The Early Risers Kiwanis awarded eight $2,000 to students from the Yuba-Sutter Area. The Vern Williams Scholarship Program was created in the memory of Vern Williams, a longtime Kiwanis member and a great friend to the community. All proceeds from the event go to the program.
This year's event will be benefiting the Early Risers Kiwanis Memorial
Scholarship Fund and other community service projects supported by Early
Risers Kiwanis. The scholarships are awarded to youth who need and deserve opportunities to improve themselves. A committee consisting of Kiwanians review and select the most deserving youth for vocational and college programs.
